Joe Farren (Recording Artist) and Tom Acousti (Producer) will host a Listening Party and group discussion in advance of the release of Joe’s new CD, 'Til the Day. This event will be held at 1:00 in the afternoon on Sunday, June 24th at The North Star Café, 225 Congress St., Portland, Maine. The Listening Party will follow a solo performance by Joe starting at 11:00am.
Selected tracks will be played followed by a Question & Answer group discussion about the process of producing a professional CD. Songwriting, recording, arranging, editing, mixing, mastering, and manufacturing will all be discussed. In attendance will be a mix of songwriters, professional engineers / producers, home recording enthusiasts, and fans of great new music.
The CD:
'Til the Day will be Joe Farren's second professional CD release. For this latest effort, Joe began working his songwriting craft via Acousti's Song Shop workshops. The CD was produced by Tom Acousti and his production team at Sound Harbor Studios in Portland while using some of the best Maine players as well as number of Nashville studio professionals. Farren, a multi-instrumentalist, played a variety of instruments on certain tracks including, guitar, piano, drums, and harmonica.
The CD release party itself will be held in another of Portland’s cozy, intimate rooms, this being at Slainte, a wine bar located at 24 Preble St. This event will take place on Sunday, July 15 at 7:00pm. The show will feature guest musicians joining Joe on certain selections. This will be the first opportunity for those interested in purchasing a hard copy of the new recording.

Joe has spent the last couple years living and playing the mid coast Maine circuit. With an average of 150 gigs a year, he balances this commitment with time spent writing and teaching.
